- Grade 12/ Matric
- Minimum of 5 to 10 years proven experience in the maintenance and mechanical industry
- Excellent planning and organizational skills
- Strong leadership skills and ability to work confidently in a group
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Excellent time management skills
- Computer literate
- Drivers license
- Competent in problem solving, team building, planning and decision making
- Plan, prioritize, schedule and oversee maintenance duties according to best practices
- Regular communication with General Managers regarding requirements, planning and progress Increase the operational effectiveness, equipment availability and life cycle cost of machinery and equipment through preventative maintenance
- Ensure that Health, Safety and Environmental requirements are adhered to
- Implementation of Standard Operating Procedures and checklists for operators
- Manage the team on technical best practice and establish standard policies and procedures whilst also mentoring and leading the department
- Contribute to new business initiatives and projects and review and communicate the impact on Maintenance activities
- Ensure that machinery and/ or equipment are fit for purpose and to provide proactive support/ solutions when required
- Attend meetings and action/ communicate instructions
- Produce written reports to the General Manager in terms of maintenance actions and costs
- Troubleshooting and problem solving
- Provide technical expertise to the team
- Manage, coach and develop a high performing maintenance team that meets agreed objectives, and which delivers best practice results, added value and continuous improvements
- Perform minor maintenance work, including maintenance and repair of machinery, other mechanical equipment, gates, etc.
- Procurement of equipment and machinery according to company protocols
