Description
RPO Recruitment is currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Plant Manager to join our client's prestigious mining company.

As a Plant Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the operations of the mining plant and ensuring its efficient and safe functioning.

You will play a critical role in managing resources, optimizing processes, and adhering to regulatory standards within the mining industry.


Responsibilities:


  • Lead and manage the plant operations, ensuring smooth production and adherence to business plans and process parameters
  • Develop and implement longterm resource and mining strategies, coordinating the flow of ore and services to the plant
  • Compile and control production, quality, and cost budgets to maximize plant efficiency
  • Build and nurture a highperforming team, fostering a positive employee relations environment in a unionized setting
  • Ensure compliance with legislative requirements and the company's Health and Safety Standards
  • Take charge of financial management, including operational and capital cost budgets
  • Drive research and development initiatives to enhance plant performance and efficiency
  • Maintain strong client relationships and actively communicate on all relevant plant matters

Requirements:


  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Metallurgy Engineering
  • Postgraduate qualification would be considered advantageous
  • Proven experience of 1012 years in a plant mining environment
  • At least 5 years in a supervisory or management position
  • Strong knowledge of the mining industry and its processes
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills
  • Sound financial acumen and budgeting skills
  • Exceptional problemsolving and decisionmaking abilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
