    Job Title: Rail Track Solutions Specialist

    Harsco Rail's Contract Services:

    Provide customers with a high-quality service by work crews that know the machines' operation and maintenance best. With years of experience, Harsco Rail's Contract Service teams have covered more than 640,000 kilometres of track, consistently achieving industry-leading production rates and high-quality output.

    Contract services include providing the maintenance, equipment, and labour to complete the job.

    Rail Grinding Services:

    Harsco Rail offers contract services for Rail Grinding and has been grinding rail for over 50 years, covering more than 300,000 km (192,000 miles) in the last 7 years.

    Job Summary:

    This role involves monitoring, investigating, and reporting machine reliability, identifying improvements for safety, obsolescence, maintainability, and reliability, as well as providing daily technical support to machine crews and field maintenance.

    The successful candidate will have strong engineering experience, including electrical, electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical disciplines, as well as experience with design tools such as Solid Edge, Creo, and TeamCentre.

    Responsibilities:

    Liaison with the customer (Network Rail SCO), monthly reliability reporting using data from the maintenance system (FAMS), development of minor machine modifications (service bulletins), and development of maintenance process changes (technical bulletins).

    To make design trade-offs to ensure lowest overall cost, highest reliability, and best-in-class performance, working with vendors to source and evaluate purchased components, and with manufacturing to produce or assemble manufactured components and assemblies.

    Monitoring, analysis, and reporting of safety-related defects, engineering incident and failure investigations, review of machine, sub-system, and component safety and reliability, engineering of solutions for machine safety and reliability issues.

    Review of maintenance processes and documentation, occasional travel required, and other duties may apply as directed by Harsco management.

    • Hands-on responsibility to investigate defect trends and identify solutions.

    • Timely technical support to other departments as required.
