    Job Purpose

    The primary objective of this role is to effectively manage the care unit in collaboration with the department's unit manager and the client's management team. The focus will be on operational planning for the unit, ensuring seamless day-to-day operations.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Create a welcoming, safe, and secure environment for residents, promoting their well-being and comfort.
    • Supervise daily resident care and activities, ensuring that staff adhere to established processes and procedures. Maintain open communication with residents' families and address any maintenance requests accordingly.
    • Manage staff performance and optimize service delivery in consultation with the Operational Manager and Staff Officer.

    Qualifications

    • Registered Nurse with current registration from the relevant health authority.
    • Proven experience in leadership and management of a care unit or similar role.
    • Strong clinical skills and understanding of patients' specific needs.

    Required Skills

    • Excellent interpersonal communication skills in English and Afrikaans (written and spoken).
    • Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations in the healthcare industry.
    • Advanced clinical skills and medical terminology expertise.
    • Basic computer proficiency in Microsoft Office software.
    • Ability to document and report patient conditions and care interventions effectively.
    • Accountability, adaptability, and problem-solving skills to navigate a dynamic and demanding work environment.
