    Senior Contracts Manager Role

    We are currently recruiting Senior Contracts Managers to oversee projects from inception to completion.

    The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, budgeting, and ensuring that projects align with proposed budgets while meeting deadlines.

    Main Responsibilities

    The Senior Contracts Manager will oversee daily operations and progress of projects, including:

    • Roads and Earthworks
    • Water and Sewer Reticulation
    • Reservoir and Concrete Works
    • Bulk Water Pipelines
    • Building Works
    • Facilities Management

    The key responsibilities include:

    • Leading and managing technical staff to ensure smooth business operations.
    • Providing accurate and timely resources to assist with project implementation.
    • Establishing and managing budgets, controlling expenditures, and ensuring efficient use of resources.
    • Analyzing complex resources management issues and preparing stakeholder reports.
    • Celebrating innovation, cost-effective working methods, and introducing new systems to improve efficiency.
    • Approving costs, including invoices, purchase orders, and final payments spreadsheets.
    • Coordinating weekly activities, such as meetings, procurement, revenue and cost monitoring, and site visits.
    • Directing and overseeing all aspects of construction projects, ensuring completion on time and within budget.
    • Collaborating with the SHEQ Manager in developing and enforcing safety standards, policies, and procedures.
    • Ensuring required tests are undertaken in a timely manner (Quality Assurance).
    • Advising the Operations Director on Civils Related Contractual and Technical matters.
    • Ensuring correct commercial engagement of subcontractors (rates, contracts agreement).
    • Completing and distributing the contract initiation/completion certificate for each project.
    • Ensuring weekly review of progress and budget resources, forwarding planning to the Operations Director.
    • Chairing and attending internal and external meetings, ensuring accurate records of discussions and actions.
    • Ensuring timely management of both temporary and permanent designs to meet project requirements.

    Requirements

    Education and Formal Training:

    • Matric Certificate
    • BSc/BTech in Civil Engineering
    • Project Management qualification is an added advantage.

    Work Experience:

    • Minimum 8+ years' experience in the civil engineering and construction industry.
    • Minimum 8+ years' experience in a commercial environment.

    Job-Related Requirements:

    • Registration as a Professional Construction Manager with the SACPCMP or Professional Civil Engineering Technician/Technologist/Engineer with ECSA.
    • Contractual knowledge, GCC, NEC, or JBCC.
    • Vast knowledge of forms of contracts.
    • Extensive experience in safety regulations.
    • Knowledge of labor laws and regulations.
