Description

Strategic Input
Provide input into the Technology Operations department

Develop the operational strategy to ensure vendor/suppliers contracts are efficiently manage


Solutions delivery
Track the fulfilment of MNS/Tower vendors contractual commitments and deliverables

Discuss any Commercial impact change request

Resolve escalated contractual issues

Recommend any changes to be made in the operational agreement

Evaluate the appropriateness of the SLAs and KPI's

Evaluate the risk impacts, based on the monthly Risk Report produced by MSP Risk Management Team

Manage all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL and Counsel, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances

Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements and report vs budget.

Research technical accounting issues for compliance

Support month-end and year-end close process

Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting

Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls

Additional controller duties as necessary

Report on departmental contract renewals, expiry and performance through relevant reporting


Operational Delivery
Ensure appropriate resources are in place to manage these areas and aspects of MNS financials.

Ensure the Technology Operations department provides expert input and feedback to support projects relating to financial efficiencies (e.g. Ignite)

Identify new opportunities for operational efficiency and eliminate processes or activities that are not adding value

Ensure co-design of all processes relating to financial controls and contract adherences.

Ensure administration of all areas of responsibility including stock

Ensure vendor acceptance documents and proper invoicing.

Manage the budgets.

Communicate problems and any issues relating to contracts or financial reporting.

Ensure vendors are meeting their SLA with MTN

Ensure any penalties relating to contracts are monitored and reported

Attending required governance meetings and activities

Keep a contracts register and update register as required


Governance and Control
Strictly follow and ensure team and vendor compliance of relevant policies and procedures

Ensure effective SLA strategies are in place to support the business and vendor compliance

Implement proper controls and processes to minimise revenue leakage

Ensure proper project controls are in place to manage financial and operational risks across the business

Appropriate implementation of DoA


Ensure the governance and the fulfilment of managed service deliverables across South Africa by all vendors on a national level.


Communication and co-ordination
Develop and continually improve effective monitoring of financial reporting and best practices.

Provide guidance to the Technology Operations to ensure efficient financial and contractual.

Assist and coordinate with financial and contracts departments.

Provide smooth workflow between departments by ensuring deadlines are met.

Use financial ability to advise and provide input when required

Manage interfaces within Technology Business and the 3rd party contractors/vendors

Develop and produce month OPEX reports for the TEchnology Operations Department with the required analysis and action to be taken in ensuring effective cost controls and management


Financial Management
Forecast, plan, develop and review transport network operations budgets in line with MTN SA financial requirements

Ensure transport network operations budgets are optimised

Manage transport network operations expenditure in line with agreed budgets

Identify and eliminate non-contributory expenditure

Manage budgeting and preparing of tenders


People Leadership and Organisational Capability Building
Lead, develop and coach the Managed Network Services Operations team

Act as an ambassador and role model for the Technology team by living the brand values and vital behaviors

Make environment the best place to work

Improve the employee engagement through the GCA/sentimeter

Ensure the attraction, development and retention of Planning and Engineering talent

Build a professional and differentiated Planning and Engineering team

Ensure a culture of continuous evaluation and improvement
