The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing planned maintenance programs, maintaining statutory machinery records, and ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety legislation.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Occupational Health and Safety: Responsible for ensuring the safe use of machinery and assets, including the implementation of relevant statutory duties and compliance with legal requirements.
    • Statutory Engineering Requirements: Ensure that all engineering requirements are met at all times, including the correct use, maintenance, safeguarding, inspection, and testing of machinery.
    • Machinery Compliance: Ensure that all incidents relating to machinery are reported and investigated in accordance with regulations.
    • Customer Relationships: Manage key customer relationships to deliver excellent service and meet commercial and financial targets.
    • Service Delivery: Manage service delivery effectively, meeting SLA requirements and ensuring continuous improvement.
    • Change Management: Implement and manage change effectively, driving continuous improvement and ensuring compliance with OHS & E regulations.

    Skills and Competencies

    • Excellent Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with customers, stakeholders, and team members.
    • Relationship Management: Strong leadership and relationship management skills to build and maintain effective customer relationships.
    • Strategic Planning: Strategic planning skills to drive business growth and improve service delivery.
    • Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to identify and resolve issues efficiently.

    Qualifications

    • Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
    • Government Certificate of Competency.
    • 5 years of experience as a Senior Facilities Manager in a healthcare/manufacturing environment, with a focus on engineering management.
    • Previous experience in steam generation and oil-fired boiler operation.
    • General Machinery Regulation 2(1) appointee for premises.
    • Management of sub-contractors and SLAs.
    • Thorough understanding of LRA and IR Management.
