    Job Title: Head, Data Risk - Business and Commercial Banking

    Overview

    The role of Head, Data Risk - Business and Commercial Banking is to translate the Standard Bank Group's data vision and strategy, as well as the relevant Business and Commercial Banking (BCB) strategy, into data strategies within BCB Risk to support SBG objectives.

    Data Strategy Implementation

    To implement the data strategy by coordinating and facilitating data programmes that enable consistent and effective data-driven business decisions. This includes enforcing governance and compliance, ensuring alignment to the relevant Group frameworks, policies, and standards, including compliance with data protection legislation.

    Qualifications and Experience

    Type of Qualification: Post-Graduate Degree

    Field of Study: Mathematical Sciences, Computer Science, Information Systems

    Requirements:

    • A minimum of 7-10 years' experience in Data & Analytics, with a focus on IT capabilities that drive business value creation, Management Information Systems (MIS), and Business Intelligence (BI).
    • Understanding of the impact of implementing information system projects on data management, integration, and data analytics.
    • 5-7 years' experience managing functional teams responsible for data management and governance.

    • Adept at adopting practical approaches to data risk management.
    • Skilled in developing strategies to mitigate data-related risks.
    • Proven ability to direct and manage people in a data-focused environment.
    • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to generate ideas and make informed decisions.
    • Excellent conflict resolution skills, with the ability to resolve complex data-related issues.
    • Deep understanding of data analysis, data integrity, and information management principles.
    • Familiarity with banking processes and procedures, including product and services knowledge.
