WORKSHOP MANAGER POSITION IN PAPUA NEW GUINEA
The Workshop Manager will oversee the smooth running of the workshop and company's fleet of vehicles, plant and motorised equipment.
This includes establishing procedures and standards, ensuring that all equipment is in line with operational requirements, and is used safely and properly maintained, ordering spare parts, managing stock control, training and supervising employed personnel.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Plan, establish and review mechanicalrelated activities to ensure optimal running of company motorised equipment (cars, trucks, heavy equipment etc) and secure movement/transportation of people and goods
- Monitor and ensure the implementation of mechanical services in compliance with company protocols, including:
- organising the servicing schedule for vehicles and engines,
- performing regular checks of mechanical tools
- completing the corresponding record sheets
- Identify spare parts, consumables and tools required by the fleet, and monitor incoming and outgoing deliveries as well as evaluate local suppliers
- Plan and coordinate the budget for workshop activities in order to respond to the needs of the company
- Manage, train and supervise the mechanics team through activities such as capacitybuilding, briefing/debriefing and evaluation of staff
- Implement reporting practices (e.g. inspection reports, vehicle documentation)
Requirements and Qualifications
- At least five years' relevant professional experience as a Workshop Manager (car, truck plus plant & equipment preferable)
Formal training (Diploma) in mechanics, heavy equipment fitting preferred:
- Have a proven safety record
- Experience of administrative work including IT skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Fluency in English
- Commitment to Company's social mission and values

This is a live in role based in

Ability to commute/relocate:
- Johannesburg, Gauteng: Reliably commute or willing to relocate with an employerprovided relocation package (preferred)
Education:
- Diploma (preferred)
