- Key Purpose

To address a broad set of needs within the Health Benefit Solutions initially and more broadly across programmes and projects run in the Discovery Health Systems area.

This individual will report directly to the Senior Transition Manager and will be required to engage very closely with various key stakeholders at all levels; and will require competencies to engage with senior to executive level stakeholders in enabling successful adoption of new systems environments and functionality throughout the organisation.

This will include developing a deep understanding of the system, an operational understanding of all areas impacted by the programme / project and the related impact to current business processes as well as anticipating the transition management activities required to ensure operational readiness and change adoption.

The successful applicant will be responsible for but not limited to the following broad job functions:


  • Transition Management
  • Conducting Impact Assessments across all the various streams and develop transition management strategies suitable for each team based on the extent and nature of the impact.
  • Engage with key stakeholders to elicit learning and development requirements for adoption of systems rollout.
  • Create stakeholder management plans and facilitating buyin and expectation management throughout the project.
  • Create the opportunity for the solution team to discover and elicit requirements through User Observations, Showcases and SOP Analysis to ensure that the current state is understood.
  • Understand intended programme / project benefits, identify acceptance / success criteria, and facilitate a clear understanding of value to be delivered in relation to expected benefits.
  • Exploring various methods for meeting Learning and Development requirements for impacted teams.
  • Developing fitforpurpose training material and supporting training material (i.e., competency assessments, facilitator guides) with the level of detail required to make users highly competent in understanding and navigating the new solution.
  • Understanding the operational aspects to the various impacted business areas and preempting updates to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for operational readiness
  • Scheduling and facilitating showcases regularly with key stakeholders to ensure that they are taken along the change journey and buy into the change.
  • Facilitating testing with end users to help incrementally cement the change and ensure that feedback from users is directed back to the project team.
  • Coordinating all administrative tasks and prerequisites related to transition management, including conducting training, training impacted users, postimplementation support and rollout reviews.
  • Execute transition management deliverables in an effective and engaging manner (this may require regional travel depending on coverage of impacted users, but would be infrequent)
  • Facilitating TraintheTrainer sessions where additional trainers are required to support the change.
  • Provide golive support on the day of golive to ensure that users are comfortable and have a channel to communicate challenges timeously.
  • Facilitating post golive support and monitoring for an agreed period and an effective handover to the relevant areas to ensure effective transition into a businessasusual state.
  • Conducting post golive user observations measure and report back on efficiencies of the new system as part of the benefits realization process.

Delivery Management & Team Effectiveness

  • Effectively managing delivery of the Transition Management requirements across multiples streams by developing a plan that spans across multiple streams and considers parallel delivery and dependencies.
  • Managing the delivery management tool of choice to foster transparency and visibility and running Standups and other agile ceremonies.
  • Managing risks and issues related to the people, process, and technology aspects of executing on the change and using relationships with key stakeholders identified to mitigate risks and escalate where necessary.
