Minimum 6 ans
must Postgraduate degree in business law with ideally a double qualification (Civil and Common Law).

  • Admitted attorney (advantageous)
  • Minimum 5 to 6 years' experience in private practice (renewables) and inhouse with strong knowledge of the South African IPP Power and Renewable projects. Inhouse experience is a must.
  • Experience in transversal project management desirable as well as in working within a multinational company.
  • Pragmatic, solution oriented, well organized, must be able to adapt quickly to the changes in the projects environment and to complex and various situations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills are required and proven collaboration with Multinational companies.

Activités
Anticipate the risks and legal needs, alert, advise and propose appropriate solutions.

  • Write and negotiate a wide range of contracts (confidentiality agreements, letters of intent; memorandum of understanding, partnership agreements; joint development agreement, shareholders agreements, EPC contracts, O&M agreements; land agreements, acquisition and sale of assets, share purchase agreements, project finance agreement) and participate actively in their negotiation.
  • Prepare the legal documentation for the responses to calls for tenders for renewable projects and follow the legal aspects of such projects once awarded (creation or participation in joint ventures and implementation of agreements).
  • Support the business development, project development, construction and asset management teams.
  • Analyze and interpret new regulations within the Country;
  • Coordinate and supervise the work of the external law firms which will be appointed by the TotalEnergies Group.
  • Support the incorporation and establishments of project companies and affiliates in the Country.
  • Follow the claims and litigation process (if any) associated with the portfolio of projects in liaison with the Head of Legal of TotalEnergies Renewables Onshore and the Headquarters Litigation Department.
  • Compile reports for TotalEnergies Renewables and prepare the relevant documents for the internal committees, under the supervision of the Head of Legal of TotalEnergies Renewables Onshore.
  • Contribute to the development of training and provide guidelines to the operational teams.
  • Participate in the implementation and evolution of TotalEnergies Renewables International contractual policy and the standardization of contractual documents.
  • Ensure compliance with Group corporate policies.
