    The Masisizane Fund is dedicated to providing Enterprise Development to small, medium, and micro enterprises in South Africa. We accomplish this through Development and Commercial Financing as well as Business Support, targeting our funding towards Black-owned businesses, women, youth, and people with disabilities. This non-profit organization funds SMMEs to establish and grow their businesses, thereby reducing poverty, inequality, and unemployment.

    Responsible for processing and recording of financial transactions and production of reports, business planning and forecasts, manages the compliance with policies and statutory requirements (procurement, tax etc).

    Accounting records

  • Review transactions to ensure that they are valid and accurately recorded in the ledgers and between the companies.
  • Reconcile fixed assets.
  • Prepare month end journals and review journals prepared for processing.
  • Administration of offices

  • Check agreements for validity and that charges comply with the contract terms.
  • Review procurement and implement procedures to ensure that procurement complies with company policy and that payments to vendors are timeous and accurate.
  • Monitor purchase of office requirements and consumables so that costs are managed and controlled.
  • Cash management

  • Prepare cash flow forecasts and funding requirements and confirm timing of disbursements.
  • Draw down and transfer cash timeously to optimize investment returns vs cash usage.
  • Manage timeous reimbursements and transfers between OM FinRisC, OM Treasury and Masisizane.
  • Controls and compliance

  • Check compliance with policies, reconciliation to budgets and business plans to confirm expenditure is within approved parameters.
  • Reconcile intercompany transactions and recharges.
  • Tax

  • Prepare and submit monthly VAT returns.
  • Prepare monthly tax and annual provisional and final tax submissions.
  • Arrange payment of tax liabilities and recover amounts due from SARS.
  • Reporting

  • Prepare, analyse and circulate monthly financial reports (management accounts).
  • Ensure TB reviews and balance sheet reconciliations are performed monthly.
  • Submit group reports (including HFM) and statutory returns.
  • Prepare annual financial statements and interact with the auditors.
  • Assist with the preparation of Investment Committee and Board reports.
  • Meetings

  • Attend Masisizane operations review meetings.
  • Facilitate monthly review with FinRisC.
  • Requirements:

    Skills, Qualifications and Experience Required

  • Financial qualification such as B.Com or B.Acc.
  • Minimum of 2 - 3 years working experience as an Accountant
  • Preferably experience in a lending environment
  • Ability to work to deadlines
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
