    Job Advert Summary

  • An opportunity has arisen for a high calibre Exports Controller to exports freight estimates and overboarder. Supervises and controls the export of goods, products or merchandise to all countries in terms of clients instructions and regulations of various authorities. Ensure that clients documentation is complete. Makes cargo space reservations and liaises with clients regarding exports. Ensures all charges are raised in accordance with agreed rates.

    Minimum Requirements
  • 5 years experience in Fruit Exports
  • Matric/NQF4
  • Knowledge of INCO terms
  • Knowledge of IMCO codes and Hazchem
  • Knowledge of Customs Clearing, duties and VAT
  • Knowledge of Imports and Exports – air and sea freight – clearing and forwarding
  • Knowledge of insurance and claiming when cargo is damaged
  • Knowledge of Shipshape
  • Knowledge of security for both air and sea freight
  • Trade Agreements

    Duties & Responsibilities

    Fruit Exports
  • Export Freight estimates
  • Negotiate freight rates for clients
  • Receive booking from the client
  • Request invoice from client to capture entry into customs
  • Find best suitable vessel according to their packing date
  • Refer to the sailing schedule for the stacking times and departing and arriving times of vessel
  • Make booking with shipping line
  • Open file
  • Send booking confirmation with all vessel details and stack dates
  • Refer to stacking list to confirm packing date
  • Send instruction to transporters to place containers
  • Collection for container from clients premises
  • Monitor container into stacks
  • Submit cargo dues
  • Submit shipping instruction to shipping lines
  • Receive invoice from client once the vessel has sailed
  • SADC's GSP, EUR1 (certificates) is processed once the vessel has sailed
  • Invoice file, submit cargo dues and bill of entry, customs release to the line to get original bills
  • Certificates are submitted to customs,
  • Batch documents and send to client
  • Track shipment to destination and keep clients advised
  • Courier documents to international agents/clients
  • Depending on terms of shipment delivery needs to be arranged to clients door at destination

    Estimate Coordination
  • Complete estimates, tenders, proposals to existing and new clients and overseas agents
  • Negotiating shipping rates with carriers and agents
  • Sourcing rates from transporters for general cargo, break bulk cargo and bulk cargo
  • Screening and verifying credit terms of new suppliers
  • Sourcing rates from ports, stevedores, transporters, warehouses and carriers

    Reporting
  • Keep clients and agents updated during the whole process
  • Update reports to clients

    Sales and Marketing
  • Sales and marketing of products and services available
