Duties/Pligte


Facility and visitor management:


Booking and scheduling use of the Learning Centre's learning activities, events, and tours;- Managing visitor flow by providing information, giving tours, and monitoring Learning Centre spaces;- Liaising with departmental staff to coordinate Centre activities;- Attending staff meetings and providing updates on Centre operations;- Collaborating closely with internal departments and external centres to enhance the Faculty's outreach;- Presenting tours that highlight the anatomical collections;- Facilitating hands-on learning experiences with anatomical specimens and technology use for students.


Collections management:


Maintaining database records and documentation for all anatomical specimens;- Properly handling, storing, and caring for anatomical artifacts according to best practices;- Managing maintenance, repairs, and replacements for anatomical collection items;- Tracking movement of anatomical collections / specimens.


Administration:


Managing day-to-day Centre administrative tasks, including supply inventory and budgeting;- Liaising with technical teams regarding equipment repairs/upgrades in the Learning Centre;- Communicating with the business office on financial operations, reporting, etc.;- Ensuring the safekeeping of equipment;- Keeping up to date records of visitor intake of the Learning Centre;- Responsible for safety in line with the OHS Act;- Reporting safety-related issues to safety reps;- Monitoring restricted access and access;- Ensuring that no pictures are taken by any visitors to the Centre.

Job Requirements/Pos Vereistes- Bachelor's degree in life sciences, museum studies, or a related field;- Technical, specialist or analytical skills acquired through tertiary education, or equivalent experience;- Basic knowledge of business and management principles, administrative and clerical procedures and systems, principles and processes for providing customer and


personal services;Fluent in English;- Knowledge of occupational health and safety practices and regulations in view of protecting the safety, health and welfare of people visiting the Learning Centre;- Exceptional communication skills to effectively convey information;- Basic knowledge and skill of the Microsoft Office suite and video conferencing software, as well as cloud-based data access and sharing software.
