Purpose of the Role


To act as the Company's custodian of the Quality Management Systems in place that have been implemented in accordance with both national and international standards.

The job holder will play a pivotal role in operational decision making, ensuring that the best quality products are produced by the organisation, meeting and exceeding all customer expectations.

Responsibilities

Quality Management System oversight

  • Establish, implement and maintain the Quality Management System in accordance with ISO 9001 as well as other international standards
  • Establish internal test methods that will inform operational processes, meeting both national and international specifications.
  • Ensure that the Company's Quality Policy is adhered to within the context of the ISO standards.
  • Managing vital quality control initiatives, compliance concerns, audits and operational processes within mandated guidelines.
  • Recommends, develops and implements verifiable continuous improvement plans to processes and throughout the plant.
  • Assist with the compilation of compliance statements in accordance with specifications and carry out optimization exercises during tender processes
  • Prepare product recipe sheets on receipt of Product Request from the Sales Department and issue to the Factory Manager.

Management of Quality Department

  • Act as the department head for the Quality division of the company and manage the day to day functioning of the Quality Department in both Westmead and Clayville sites.
  • Take an active role in customer complaint resolution and complete documentation from initiation to closure.
  • Create product codes and Bill of Materials (BOMs) for new products and assist the Financial Manager to set up the same on Pastel.
  • Update BOMs as and when changes are made and ensure that the Financial Manager is duly informed of the necessary change in order to input into Sage.
  • Manage both product and raw material trials, assisting in the Company meeting set customer and international standards.
  • Ensure that the Company's SHE Policy is adhered to within the Quality Department.

Financial Management and Legal compliance

  • Drawing of the annual budgets for the Quality department, submitting this to the Financial Manager.
  • Sourcing quotations for qualityrelated services that may be needed from external parties.
  • Along with the SHER Manager, ensure ISO 14001:2015 System design, implementation, training and legal compliance for both sites.
  • Assisting the organization in the fulfilment of Legal Compliance obligations including for external audits.

Reporting and Administration

  • Lead, investigates, identifies the root causes of any qualityrelated issues and advises on the best possible way to prevent the same occurrence.
  • Maintain an easy retrieval filing system for all documents related to the laboratory.
  • Drafting official Quality Department communications for the organisation.

Ad-Hoc

  • Chairing of the quarterly Management Review Meeting, undertaking all related duties.
  • Schedule Monthly Production and Quality meetings and prepare necessary minutes and distribute to Directors, Managers and Supervisors.
