  • Job Function To ensure all activities regarding 4PL and Project Logistics are executed. This includes International Freight Management (air, ocean, road), Cross-Border Freight Management, Commercial (pricing and quotations), Procurement, and Warehousing.
  • Key performance areas:


  • Customer Relationship Management

  • Maintaining strong relationships with new and existing clients.
  • Building customer and subcontractor relationships.
  • Provide client estimates when required within 48 hours (Excluding tenders).
  • Ensure customer KPI scorecards are completed.
  • Administration:
  • Ensure operational files are accurate at all times and closed out in a timely manner.
  • Managing all shipment claims.
  • Overseeing scheduling and ensuring that it is done efficiently on the system.
  • Ensuring the accurate execution of loads.
  • Reporting to Management daily and assisting with queries.
  • Communicating and understanding new and current road transport legislation
  • KPI reporting and presentation
  • Management of order through the entire 4PL chain
  • From stock procurement to POD including warehousing.
  • Strong knowledge on operations throughout Sub-Saharan, East, and West Africa.
  • Strong understanding of the 4PL process flow to create efficiencies through continuous improvement.
  • Good TMS, IMS, ERP, and WMS knowledge to allow leveraging of technology to create efficiencies.
  • Employees:
  • HR Management of reportable employees.
  • Scorecard reviews to be completed bi-annually for direct reports.
  • Ensure disciplinary measures are actioned when required.
  • Briefing reportable staff on necessary company information.
  • Training of new employees.
  • Establishing and improving employee skills needs and requirements.
  • Systems:
  • Manage and maintain data on Cargowise
  • Ensure client reports are accurate and distributed to clients as per the SOP.
    Inherent Requirements
  • Qualifications/experience required:
  • Tertiary Qualification or equivalent Logistics/Supply Chain or similar.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in International Freight.
  • Management and/or Primary Transportation Planning.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office
  • Google Earth / Route Planning Software
  • CargoWise One
  • Process Assist (optional)
  • Pastel Evolve or SAP (optional)
  • Skills and experience required:
  • Excellent communication internally, with logistics providers and with customers.
  • Decision making skills.
  • Meeting of deadlines.
