Criteria:


  • 5 years planning experience
  • High numeracy
  • Strong business acumen
  • Flexible and is willing to get involved in other parts of the business.

Main function:


  • To provide relevant and accurate information to ensure availability of the correct stock to meet company sales targets
  • To maximize return on invested inventory

Seasonal Reviews

  • Review seasonal sales data
  • Provide postseasonal stock analysis
  • Develop seasonal sales strategy

Budget and Sales Forecasting Management

  • Receive sales budget (sellin) from Finance
  • Review sellthrough performance
  • Recalculate required "open to buy" budget based on sellthrough performance
  • Review Sales Plans in line with "open to buy" budget
  • Review forecasts in line with "open to buy" budget
  • Communicate recalculated "open to buy" to Finance and Product Specialists
  • Monitor updated OTB plans
  • Control purchase orders in line with revised "open to buy" budget
  • Along with Product Specialist manage margins

Analysis (Stock and Sales)

  • Develop and maintain Sales Logs
  • Ensure timeous population of template
  • Analyse data in order to determine preseason stock allocation and replenishment requirements and execute this on a weekly basis
  • Convene weekly stock and sales meeting to identify:
  • Top, middle and bottom items
  • Nonperforming items
  • Over stock and under stock items
  • Stock and sales
  • Respond to adhoc stock analysis requests
  • Revise sales forecasts monthly in order to determine updated need by brand, category and price point.

Reporting

  • Develop new reports and analysis formats to meet reporting requirements
  • Respond to requests for adhoc reports
  • Provide reporting on stock and sales and the product lifecycle for Business meeting

Stock Management

  • Plan and control the product life cycle
  • Identify and propose action on:
  • Best sellers (i.e. reorder)
  • Worst sellers (i.e. implement promo/markdown)
  • High stock covers (i.e. implement promo/markdown)
  • NOOS stock and sales
  • Provide analysis on inventory aging
