OVERVIEW:


As a Project Finance Analyst, you will play a crucial role in assessing and analysing the financial viability and risks associated with various projects undertaken by the organisation.

You will be responsible for supporting the pricing of projects, setting up and finalisation of rate cards, evaluating the financial feasibility, structuring financing arrangements, supporting monthly invoicing and providing financial recommendations to support decision-making processes.


RESPONSIBILITIES:


Financial Analysis:
Conduct thorough financial analysis of project proposals, including cash flow projections and budget tracking. Assess the financial viability and risk profile of projects.

Financial Modelling: Develop and maintain detailed financial models to evaluate project economics. Incorporate relevant financial assumptions, market trends, and project-specific variables to assess project feasibility and profitability.

Project Evaluation: Assess the economic and financial impact of projects, considering factors such as capital requirements, revenue potential, operating costs, and market dynamics. Identify key risks and opportunities and provide recommendations to mitigate risks and enhance project returns.

Financing Strategies: Collaborate with the finance team and external stakeholders to structure appropriate financing arrangements for projects should it be required. Evaluate and analyse the impact on project economics and financial sustainability.

Due Diligence: Conduct comprehensive due diligence on project-related financials, contracts, and agreements. Identify and assess risks associated with project financing, regulatory compliance, and legal obligations. Recommend risk mitigation strategies and ensure adherence to financial policies and guidelines.

Rate card: Continuously review bench level and direct operational and non-operational fee structure to inform pricing associated with the annual rate card.

Project Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, presentations, and documentation related to project financing. Present findings, analyses, and recommendations to senior management, and other stakeholders to facilitate informed decision-making.

Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business development, finance, and project management, to ensure alignment between financial objectives and project execution. Engage with external stakeholders, such as sponsors/vendors/suppliers to secure pricing and negotiate favourable terms.

Market Research:Stay updated on industry trends, market dynamics, and regulatory changes that may impact project finances. Conduct market research to identify potential funding sources, partnerships, and investment opportunities.

Support inventory control procedures through review of historic trends against current requests.


REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in financial analysis, project evaluation, preferably in project finance.
  • Strong proficiency in financial modelling, Excel, and other financial analysis tools.
  • Indepth knowledge of financial concepts, project finance principles, and risk assessment techniques.
  • Familiarity with relevant legal and regulatory frameworks related to project financing.
  • Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills to effectively convey financial insights and recommendations to diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fastpaced environment.
  • Team player mindset with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with external partners.

MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
A Bachelor of Commerce degree in Finance (BCom).
