POSITION:
HANDYMAN ASSISTANT

PURPOSE:

To do all repairs and maintenance, areas as required by the department supervisors and management. To make sure all equipment are maintained to set standards as agreed on.


ROLES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:


  • Installing, repairing, and maintaining pipes, valves, fittings, drainage systems, and fixtures in commercial and residential structures.
  • Collaborating with general contractors, electricians, and other construction professionals.
  • Following building plans and blueprints.
  • Responding to, diagnosing, and resolving plumbing emergencies.
  • Cutting, welding and assembling pipes, tubes, fittings, and fixtures.
  • Inspecting and testing plumbing systems and components for leaks and blockages.
  • Using the correct type of pipe and material for the job at hand.
  • Light construction, carpentry, painting, plastering, flooring and ceiling as required.
  • Keep accurate records of time spent working, description of work performed, and materials used.

REQUIREMENTS:


  • Matric
  • Proven experience as a painter/Builder
  • 13 years' experience as a handyman
  • Valid driver's license
  • Good basic math skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Conscientious with great attention to detail
  • Physical fit with medical certification
  • FMCG Group experience

PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES:
