    Description

    Solution Architect Role Overview

    The Senior Solution Architect plays a key role in collaborating with business domain experts and leadership to design a solution that aligns with business objectives.

    They focus on a specific service area, ensuring it operates effectively as part of the larger system and independently as a standalone solution.

    Main Responsibilities:

    • Compliance
      • Evaluates solutions against enterprise and solution practice guidelines, IT strategy, and commercial requirements.
      • Ensures new solutions adhere to signed-off architecture designs.
      • Understands the fiscal implications of solutions to ensure they meet business needs and are sustainable within the organization's financial framework.
    • Personal Effectiveness
      • Communicates complex technical concepts in simple terms.
      • Lives by the company's values.
      • Accountable for delivering results through individual efforts.
      • Collaborates with others to achieve personal goals.
      • Manages own time, tasks, and output quality over extended periods.
      • Prioritizes workload and plans team activities.
      • Develops and collaborates on designs with stakeholders.
      • Provides recommendations to stakeholders on solution alternatives.
    • Technical Consultation
      • Analyses business processes to identify opportunities for IT investments.
      • Develops detailed transition plans for effective IT exploitation.
      • Defines solutions that meet business requirements, non-functional requirements, and architectural guidelines.
      • Responds to stakeholder needs and influences alternative solution development.

      Desired Qualifications and Experience:

      • Bachelor's degree (BSC).
      • Broad IT knowledge and strong problem-solving skills.
      • Proficiency in IT technologies (Java, JavaScript).
      • Ability to model architecture views for discussions with stakeholders.
      • Grasp of IT concepts, patterns, and principles.
      • Policy Administration knowledge.
      • Cloud certification (AWS) or SAFe architecture certification.

      About the Opportunity:

      A hybrid working environment with 2 days on-site in Cape Town required.

      A 6-month contract with potential renewal until December 2024.
