    Description

    Job Title: Strategic Sourcing Manager

    Job Purpose:

    To establish, lead and direct the execution of strategic sourcing functions for procurement categories in line with Nedbank strategy.

    Key Responsibilities:

    1. Identify synergies, strategies and innovative ways to achieve strategic objectives and economies of scale Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) through demand management and optimising existing spend.
    2. Review supplier spend data to identify cost benefit opportunities.
    3. Analyse market benchmarks to understand and monitor competitiveness of suppliers.
    4. Provide category cost information to stakeholders to assist with budget forecasting.
    5. Manage supplier relationships by understanding supplier objectives, strategic plans and business influences.
    6. Formulate and implement an action plan aligned with category suppliers and internal stakeholders to enhance strategic supplier relationships.
    7. Build collaborative relationships across Nedbank and group affiliates to identify joint synergies on procurement strategies.
    8. Manage conflicts by engaging with stakeholders.
    9. Enable strategic partnerships by monitoring stakeholder expectations and building long-term relationships.
    10. Educate commodity specialists and others on procurement related functions through coaching and mentoring.
    11. Execute the sourcing life cycle using the internationally recognised strategic sourcing process.
    12. Conduct requests for information, proposals, quotations and auctions to meet business requirements and benchmarking.
    13. Create and manage category sourcing strategy based on risk assessment, market analysis and financial indicators.
    14. Achieve category strategy by managing supplier catalogues and non-catalogue orders.
    15. Provide a procurement query resolution service to effectively deal with procurement queries.
    16. Mitigate risk by managing the Nedbank due diligence process and conducting supplier audits.
    17. Develop frameworks for interaction with suppliers by guiding governance processes.
    18. Lead cross-functional sourcing by establishing category advisory boards to improve compliance and increase costs benefits.
    19. Ensure transformational targets are met for own team through consideration of targets during staff recruitment, retention and training.
    20. Contribute to a culture conducive to achievement of transformation goals by participating in Nedbank Culture building initiatives.
    21. Achieve operational excellence by supporting business optimisation improvement through team engagement.
    22. Encourage innovation and knowledge sharing within the team.
    23. Manage the category to ensure preferential procurement BBBEE targets are achieved in line with Financial Sector Charter (FSC) as determined by the Department of Trade and/or industry code of good practice and Nedbank's targets.
    24. Appoint Black Owned / Black Woman Owned suppliers to achieve FSC / Nedbank / delete DTI codes of good practice targets.

    Essential Qualifications - NQF Level:

    • Advanced Diplomas/National 1st Degrees

    Preferred Qualification:

    • Certified Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) /M-CIPS

    Minimum Experience Level:

    • 10 years in procurement industry with 5 years at senior management level managing others
