- A BCom (Accounting) degree/or Financial Diploma is preferred for this role.
- Previous experience having worked as a Bookkeeper or a related role is preferred.
- Must have a strong understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices is preferred.
- Proficiency in Parrot Software is highly beneficial but not essential.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and excellent computer skills are essential.
- Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and financial reports.
- Proficient in performing reconciliations.
- Comprehensive understanding of relevant legislation, policies, and accounting standards.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in handling financial information.
- Collaborating closely with the Financial Manager to ensure seamless execution of financial and bookkeeping / audit-related tasks.
- Performing thorough reconciliations of accounts to maintain accurate financial records.
- Efficiently collecting and preparing data for submission to auditors.
- Maintaining clear and professional communication with both internal team members and external auditors.
- Managing time effectively to meet deadlines and handling multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Preparing journals and making audit adjustments as necessary.
- Executing any ad hoc duties required for audit purposes or as directed by the financial manager.
- Ensuring compliance with statutory law and financial regulations.
