Purpose of the position
The Project Manager plays a pivotal role in gathering, planning, organising, coordinating,
and managing projects to ensure timely completion, adherence to budget, and
alignment with organisational objectives.


Key responsibilities of the position

1. Project planning and scope definition

  • Defining the project scope, objectives, deliverables, and milestones; and
  • Creating a detailed project plan that outlines tasks, assignments, and timelines.

Resource management:


  • Estimating and allocating resource requirements, including personnel,
equipment, and budget requirements; and

  • Effectively resolving issues and conflicts that may arise during project execution.

Risk management and issue resolution:


  • Identifying, assessing, and prioritising potential risks that could impact project
success; and

  • Developing risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans to address potential
issues.

Change management and stakeholder management:


  • Managing changes to project scopes, schedules, or budgets in a controlled and
transparent manner.

Documentation and knowledge management:


  • Tracking project progress against the plan, identifying deviations or delays;
  • Preparing regular status reports for stakeholders, providing key metrics and
insights; and

  • Monitoring and managing project budgets, ensuring adherence to financial
constraints.

Prioritisation and backlog management:


  • Prioritising product backlog items based on business value, customer needs, and
technical feasibility;

  • Collaborating with the product owner to refine and manage the product backlog
throughout the project lifecycle; and

  • Ensuring the backlog is transparent and accessible to all team members.
**Knowledge and experience required


Skills, know-how and experience:_ _**- Experience in digital and process transformation projects within financial services;

  • Knowledge of process design and change management frameworks;
  • Knowledge of client experience and investment frontoffice practices;
  • Computer literacy in SharePoint, Dynamics CRM, MS project, Azure DevOps and
Power BI;

  • Competence in both Agile and Traditional Project delivery methods; and
  • Experience in leading a team and/or project management office.

Technical/ professional qualifications:


  • B. Com or similar;
  • Project management qualification PMI, PRINCE2, Agile PMI or similar;
  • Agile Certifications Scrum, KANBAN;
  • Six sigma would be an advantage; and
  • Financial markets certification would be an advantage.
