    Electrical Maintenance Specialist

    Overview:

    To conduct electrical maintenance and repairs on plant and equipment in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to established safety protocols.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Maintenance Process (Scheduled): Conduct routine electrical checks and maintenance tasks as per schedules and predetermined plans.
    • Maintenance Process (Breakdown): Perform emergency electrical repairs and maintenance in response to breakdowns or system failures.
    • Electrical Maintenance: Ensure the proper functioning of electrical systems, circuits, and equipment within the plant.
    • Mechanical and Fabrication: Assist with mechanical and fabrication work related to electrical systems, ensuring compliance with design specifications.
    • Instrumentation Maintenance: Maintain and calibrate instrumentation equipment to ensure accurate readings and reliable operation.
    • Maintenance Process (Post-Maintenance): Verify the effectiveness of completed maintenance tasks and document results for future reference.
    • Material Handling: Handle materials and supplies necessary for electrical maintenance and repair activities.
    • Engineering Projects and Project Initiation: Participate in the initiation and planning stages of engineering projects, providing input from an electrical maintenance perspective.
    • Project Planning, Administration, and Management: Collaborate with project teams to plan, administer, and manage electrical-related aspects of projects.
    • Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for improvement and implement changes to enhance electrical maintenance processes and efficiency.
    • Reporting: Provide regular reports on maintenance activities, including any issues encountered, actions taken, and outcomes achieved.

    Requirements:

    • Grade 12/Matric with Mathematics and Science
    • Section 13 Red Seal Electrician trade test
    • N4 Electrical Trade Theory, with subjects specific to Electrical Engineering
    • Wireman's Licence
    • 5+ years' experience in heavy industry

    The estimated salary for this role is $80,000 per annum, depending on location and qualifications.
