PROPOSED POSITION


THINK is seeking a suitably qualified District Coordinator for the anticipated USAID Accelerate Tuberculosis Elimination and Program Resilience Activity (ACCELERATE 1- High Burden Areas) project to be based in Gauteng/KwaZulu-Natal, to oversee the Sedibeng and Tshwane region.


Minimum Requirements

  • Degree or diploma in Nursing or relevant discipline
  • SANC registered
  • 35 years' experience as a project manager in the Health field
  • PHC experience
  • Experience in PEPFAR/USAID funded projects

Advantageous

  • HIV/TB Management Diploma
  • Current GCP Certificate

Duties:


  • Supervise and lead the Professional Nurse Mentors, NIMDR Nurses and SAFT programme staff based at DOH facilities. ((e.g. ENs, ENAs, Adherence Counsellors, Linkage Officers)
  • Oversee the implementation of the DR-TB and DS-TB linkages to care, adherence support and household contact tracing across the district.
  • Work in close collaboration with DOH TB managers and facility managers to support TB screening activities, as well as the implementation of LF
  • LAM and TPT in the district
  • Support technical aspects of the Programme, including TB Mortality Audits; Cohort Reviews and TB/ COVID19 activities in the district
  • Support the development of tools and activities to ensure programme activities are carried out according to the plan
  • Support other project management activities as the needs of the project evolve
  • Participate in the Project Quarterly Review meetings and attend other Project meetings as required
  • Alignment with funder expectations and requirements
  • Establish and implement reporting systems for programme staff and follow up on reports
  • Review of facility level reports from the DQM with the M&E manager/ coordinator
  • Support in the compilation of monthly/ quarterly/ annual reports.
  • Coordinate and lead regular staff meetings with programme staff
  • Work closely with M&E officer to ensure output targets are reached and address issues as they arise.
  • Work closely with the District DoH, DoH Hospital management and staff, clinic Operational Managers and TB nurses as well as community structures (eg DAC, LAC, traditional leaders/ healers, CSOs) in the implementation and feedback of THINK project interventions.
  • Coordinate and participate in community engagement events (awareness campaigns, community dialogues, radio interviews).
  • Continuous engagement with district information officers and TB Clinical Leads
  • Participate in the recruitment and training of programme staff
  • Facilitate training and capacity building of Direct Service Providers (NGOs and DOH)
  • Participate or represent the project in conferences.
  • Ensure THINK vision, mission and values are reflected in all job outcomes

  • Be passionate about making the difference and add value to THINK
  • Perform other duties as required
  • Support, train and mentor programme staff based at SAFT supported facilities throughout the district
  • Provide direct supervision to all subordinates
  • Capacity building through attending appropriate training programmes

  • Comply with all THINK rules and regulations and policies and procedures

  • Perform other duties as required
