    Job Title: Health and Safety Officer

    Health and Safety Officers play a vital role in maintaining a safe working environment.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Lead incident investigations, providing actionable recommendations to enhance safety and risk management practices.
    • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards and identify areas for improvement.
    • Enforce safety policies, procedures, and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
    • Identify potential hazards and conduct comprehensive risk assessments to implement effective preventative measures.
    • Develop and implement emergency response plans, conducting regular drills to ensure readiness and preparedness.
    • Prepare detailed safety reports and maintain accurate documentation of all safety activities and initiatives.
    • Collaborate with the Site Team to integrate safety into all project phases and activities.
    • Provide safety training and orientation for new employees and contractors, emphasizing best practices and fostering a strong safety culture.

    Requirements:

    • Minimum 8 years' experience in a similar role.
    • Must be professionally registered with SACPCMP.
    • Professional certifications in Safety Management are highly preferred (NEBOSH, OSHA, or SAMTRAC).
    • Strong knowledge of safety regulations, compliance requirements, and best practices.
    • Proficiency in safety reporting and documentation tools.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills for identifying hazards and determining effective preventative measures.
    • Valid driver's license.
