    We at RCL FOODS are in search for a Process Engineer: Laboratory and Continuous Improvement to join our Sugar Business Unit/Division. The role will be based at our Malalane Mill and report to the Production Manager .

    Minimum Requirements
  • BTech/BSc Chemical Engineering or equivalent qualifications.
  • A completed SMRI 10-week sugar course would be a distinct advantage.
  • At least 3 years Laboratory or Operations / Production managerial experience
  • Experience in the sugar industry would be an advantage.
  • Candidates should have advanced Computer literacy (LIMS, MS Office and SAP) skills to complete the profile.
  • To be considered for appointment, candidate must be a South African citizen.
    • Duties & Responsibilities
  • Provide an analytical service to the factory by compiling production related reports.
  • Adhering to Quality and SHE goals in line with the business objectives.
  • Maintain the risk management systems and coordinate the maintenance of the laboratory equipment in accordance with Malelane Mill SHEQ requirements.
  • Responsible for managing the laboratory and plant optimization.
  • Leading a multi-disciplinary Laboratory team responsible for the day-to-day activities of the Laboratory which includes the management of factory mass balance and ensuring required product analysis are provided for the packaging and factory areas.
  • Responsible for budgets, cost control and reporting thereof.
