    Description

    We are seeking a RD&A Lead to drive Research and Development in South Africa. This individual will lead the function, connecting the region to the global organization, and develop a strong RD&A team focused on End Use Markets.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Manage and deliver project execution to meet strategy and growth targets.
    • Oversee innovation portfolio across technology groups:
      • Combine customer needs and technical expertise for innovation initiatives.
      • Determine competitive differentiation through research and product development.
      • Evaluate existing products and recommend enhancements.
      • Select and prioritize projects that add value to customers.
      • Assign resources and track project progress.
    • Build and develop the RD&A organization by hiring, coaching, and providing feedback.
    • Ensure Kerry stays ahead of cutting-edge science for new product solutions.
    • Work with Supply Chain/Operations to support process improvements, business continuity, and regulatory support.
    • Drive service quality consistency for key accounts.
    • Contribute to senior leadership committee and regional RD&A strategy.

    Qualifications and Skills

    • Bachelor's degree in Food Science.
    • At least 15 years of work experience in RD&A leadership roles within a regulated food/ingredients industry.
    • Exposure to multiple markets in the APMEA region.
    • Previous experience in preparing and managing budgets.
    • Demonstrated track record of successful innovations in the commercial marketplace.
    • Experience in transferring innovations into plants and understanding plant operations.
    • Ability to communicate a compelling vision for the RD&A function.
    • Strong understanding of the business environment, customers, competitors, and government regulations.

    Estimated Salary: R1,200,000 - R1,800,000 per annum
