    • Precision Engineering Machine Shop Seeks an Autos Machine Setter to program/ set and monitor machines to perform the allocated tasks to meet targets, criteria, and deadlines.

    PROCESS BASIC EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

    Formal schooling/degree

    • Qualified Artisan.
    • AA Sliding Head Auto Setter.

    Experience:

    • Previous experience in a high- volume precision mechanical engineering environment.
    • Good Technical Knowledge of drawings, equipment, and machinery.

    Languages:

    • English and Afrikaans.

    KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

    • On-Time Delivery.
    • Production schedule attainment.
    • Capacity utilization.
    • Total cycle time.
    • Scrap.

    INTERPERSONAL SKILLS/VALUES:

    • Good communications skills (verbal/non-verbal).

    • Ability to work in a high-pressure environment.

    MAIN TASKS/RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Machines are set and maintained for producing components to the planning productivity and quality standards.
    • Operators are fully instructed in the operation of the respective machine process prior to full operation of the machine under minimum supervision.
    • Setting scrap is kept to a minimum and segregated from acceptable production.
    • All production remains identified during all manufacturing stages.
    • Corrective action is immediately taken when adverse trends are noted or brought to his attention.
    • Maintain good housekeeping.

    COMPETENCIES, KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILLS:

    • Ability to work under pressure and demonstrate ability to meet deadlines.
    • Experience in various Single/Multi Spindle Autos machine.
    • Problem solving: Ability to identify faults; problems and determine solutions.
    • Knowledge of safety regulations (safety conscious at all times).
    • Mechanical knowledge of machines and tools including repair and maintenance.
    • Knowledge of safety regulations.
