    Description

    Murray & Roberts Cementation invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for the position of Artisan Fitter.

    The successful candidate will be responsible for constructing engineering installations according to agreed standards, procedures and specifications, maintaining and repairing engineering equipment, and ensuring compliance with safety protocols and client standards.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Construct engineering installations in accordance with agreed standards and specifications
    • Maintain and repair engineering equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime
    • Ensure compliance with SHEQ, M&RC, and client safety protocols and standards
    • Implement cost-containment measures and optimize mean time to failure after repairs
    • Foster effective stakeholder engagement and lead a motivated team

    Requirements:

    • Grade 12 or NQF 4 equivalent qualification
    • Section 26 Fitter Trade Certificate / MIETTB Trade Certificate through a registered body
    • Valid First aid Certificate
    • Valid Code EB driver's license
    • Analytical and attentive to detail skills
    • Team leadership and management skills
    • Sound listening and communication skills
    • Self-motivated self-starter with high levels of initiative
    • Able to make decisions within agreed parameters
    • Sound learning agility and ability to adapt to new technologies
    • Job planning skills
    • Pneumatic and hydraulic Installation and maintenance experience

    Desirable Qualifications and Experience:

    • 5 year's mining industry experience (underground)
    • 5 year's trade experience as a Fitter
    • Construction experience (Grout Plant)
    • Read and interpret drawings
