Position:
Back of House and Kitchen Trainer


Location:
Kampala, Uganda/Nairobi, Kenya


Responsibilities:


  • Conduct extensive training sessions to enhance the culinary skills and performance of our back of house and kitchen staff.
  • Develop and implement training programs, ensuring compliance with safety and hygiene standards, including food handling procedures.
  • Train new hires on the guidelines and protocols required to maintain consistency in food quality and customer service.
  • Deliver handson coaching, providing guidance on proper cooking techniques, recipe adherence, and efficient kitchen operations.
  • Collaborate closely with the management team to identify training needs, address skill gaps, and develop continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Monitor and evaluate trainees to track progress, provide constructive feedback, and recognize exceptional performance.
  • Stay uptodate with culinary trends, equipment usage, and industry best practices to enhance training programs.

Requirements:


  • Proven experience as a back of house or kitchen trainer within the food service industry.
  • Passion for culinary arts, food safety, and exceptional customer service.
  • Extensive knowledge of kitchen operations, culinary techniques, and hygiene standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively train and motivate diverse teams.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the capability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Adaptable and resourceful problemsolver who can think on their feet in a fastpaced environment.
  • Relevant culinary certifications or qualifications will be considered a plus.
