Description

The purpose of the position is to administer all payroll functions and processes in accordance with the company policies and procedures of the respective countries to ensure the remuneration to all employees are paid correctly and on time.

The position is currently available in our Johannesburg office.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Implementing/updating and checking all permanent and temporary financial, role and personal data on the PaySpace payroll system, e.g. new appointments, terminations, promotions, transfers, ad hoc payments, bank detail changes, deductions for international staff
  • Do manual payments on request by line managers and ensure that the necessary accounting, payroll and statutory processes are adhered to
  • Control balancing of payroll at prelim and final salary runs timeously
  • Stop payments effected after the ACB tape was processed
  • Investigating and correcting items on medical aid discrepancy report to ensure medical aid deductions and membership is correct
  • Provide accounting support to Finance department on all account reconciliations
  • Administer payroll related enquiries and queries from employees, line management, internal and external departments/institutions
  • Able to perform multicurrency conversions of expat salaries
  • Ensuring all benefit documentation of new appointees is sent to third parties to arrange for the required benefits
  • Ensuring all the daily validations of incorrect or missing data are rectified and completed on a daily basis
  • Ensuring all capturing correspondence and education certificates are updated and saved on payroll system
  • Assisting with the checking of all final salary payments by verifying all country payroll variance reports and confirming the capturing against the documentation sent
  • Loading of all bank files to the various banking systems for the respective countries and ensuring salaries are credited to employees banking accounts on pay day
  • Prepare manual salary payments for those who do not have banking accounts and rejected salaries due to incorrect banking details
  • Ensuring medical discrepancies are corrected and members pay the correct contributions to ensure their medical aid is not suspended due to arrears not paid and liaising with staff regarding arrears
  • Investigating and clearing outstanding salary control accounts
  • Performing monthly tax and pension calculations to ensure correctness of all international payrolls
  • Rendering excellent client service to all stakeholders and providing support to all countries irrespective of where the payroll is administered
  • Assist management with salary information with regards to monthly budgets as well as rectifying errors that may have occurred in respect of staff salaries being paid from the wrong cost centers

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Matric or NQF 4 with Maths and or Accounting
  • Degree / Diploma or studying towards
  • Minimum 3 year relevant payroll experience
  • PaySpace experience advantageous

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Proficiency in MS O365, SharePoint, Teams
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel
  • International payroll experience will be advantageous
  • Ability to liaise at all levels
  • Ability to understand and summarise financial data into high quality, accurate and usable summaries
  • Presentation skills (ability to prepare and present financial data in various formats (PowerPoint / written / presentation)
  • Ability to work independently and remotely while also part of a team
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail skills essential
  • Strong troubleshooting abilities
  • Cando mentality
