    We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled professional to lead our risk and compliance functions. The ideal candidate will have a strong legal background, advanced knowledge of risk management and compliance practices, and excellent leadership skills.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Risk Identification and Analysis: Identify potential risks and analyze their impacts on the organization.
    • Risk Framework Development: Create and implement a robust risk framework for the organisation.
    • Risk-Intelligent Decision Making: Enable the organisation to achieve its strategic objectives in a risk-intelligent manner.
    • Advice to Senior Management: Provide advice to senior management for decision making.
    • Audit Process Streamlining: Creation and streamlining of audit processes.
    • Risk Planning: Creating and maintaining risk plans.
    • Governance and Internal Controls: Improve governance and internal controls within the business

    Qualifications and Professional Certification:

    • Legal Degree: A Legal Degree i.e. LLB, LLM or Similar is essential
    • Data Privacy and Cyber Security Risk Management: An advanced qualification in data privacy and Cyber Security Risk Management is advantageous
    • Senior Risk and Compliance Experience: At least 8 years' experience in a Senior Risk and Compliance Leadership role, preferably within the Financial Services Sector or within one of the major Consulting/Auditing Firms

    Essential Knowledge and Skills:

    • Sound Legal and Risk Practices: Advanced knowledge and understanding of sound legal, risk and compliance practices including corporate performance reporting.
    • Legislative Requirements: Sound knowledge and experience in all relevant legislative requirements as it relates to the role including POPIA and Data Processing requirements.
    • Critical Thinking: Critical thinking, using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
    • Transparency and Integrity: High degree of transparency and integrity is essential in this role.
    • Analytical Thinking: Excellent analytical thinking capabilities in complex situations.
    • Influencing Skills: Well-developed influencing skills across levels in the organisation, to allow for effective direction of the Companys risk and compliance affairs.
    • Organizational Abilities: Exceptional organizational abilities and effective problem solving and decision-making skills.
    • Leadership Experience: Proven leadership of small to medium-sized teams.
    • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Networking Capabilities: Effective networking capabilities.
    • Balanced Approach to Risk Management: A contemporary and balanced approach to risk management

    Salary: $120,000 - $150,000 per year
