    About the Role

    Mintek is seeking a highly skilled Senior Engineer to join our Bioprocessing Group in the Biometallurgy Division.

    The successful candidate will provide engineering inputs and perform research in the areas of bioleaching of precious and base metal resources, treatment of mine effluents and solid wastes.

    Key Responsibilities

    1. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and develop innovative ideas for technical projects.
    2. Lead the execution of work as a chief investigator of projects within the division/group.
    3. Establish specifications, improve workflows, and introduce operating procedures at a project level.

    Commercial Expectations

    • Develop proposals to client satisfaction under direct/limited supervision.
    • Design, operate, and oversee discipline-specific experimental work as required by proposals.
    • Collect and interpret data using standard methodologies and procedures.
    • Plan and manage projects efficiently, coordinating with others.
    • Ensure proper care of equipment and supplies, promote continual improvement, and adhere to all SHEQ requirements.

    Research and Development Expectations

    • Prepare proposals, including Open Call proposals, under direct/limited supervision.
    • Perform routine scientific and engineering research using standard methods, procedures, and equipment.
    • Contribute to IP development.
    • Minimum qualifications include MEng or MSc(Eng), preceded by BSc(Eng) or BEng, with 3-5 years of vocational experience in Biometallurgy, processing of minerals, or knowledge-based organizations.
