    Description

    A leading Asset Manager firm is seeking a Chief Investment Officer to establish investment strategies and manage flagship equity model portfolios. This role involves formulating investment policies, managing portfolios, and serving as the custodian of the business' investment philosophy.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Investment Strategy:

    • Provide input and management oversight for investment strategy formulation.
    • Manage and accept accountability for our client's flagship model portfolios.
    • Serve as the custodian of the business' investment philosophy.
    • Ensure investment capabilities and initiatives are prioritised and aligned to our investment philosophy.
    • Work on investment policy and technical assistance.
    • Establish, implement, and adhere to investment mandates.
    • Monitor and assess the effectiveness and performance of investment strategies.

    Regulatory Compliance and Risk Management:

    • Develop strategies for identifying, measuring, and mitigating risks relating to the overall investment management process.
    • Ensure compliance with company policies, regulations, and rules.
    • Chair the client's Investment Committee.

    Investment Research:

    • Oversee the investment research agenda and identify areas of outperformance.
    • Supervise and mentor Equity Analysts complementary to the business' investment process.

    Leadership:

    • Lead and provide strategic direction to the investment management and equity research teams.
    • Identify opportunities to leverage strategic relationships and alliances to build new investment or growth opportunities.
    • Provide management in the investment areas with an investment view based on performance.
    • Provide mentorship and guidance to direct reports.
    • Set investment goals for performance and growth.
    • Manage performance of direct reports and hold them accountable.
    • Identify relevant development needs within the team.
    • Ensure transformational targets are met.

    Requirements:

    • Postgraduate degree in Investments Management, Finance, Actuarial Science, Quantitative, or Risk Management.
    • Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).

    Experience:

    • 10-15 years investment management experience.
    • 5 years senior leadership experience.
    • Exposure to portfolio management across various products, markets, and industries.
    • Substantial track record of investment performance.
    • Stakeholder management and influencing skills.
