About the role:


The Procurement Manager at Jabu is responsible for purchasing and receiving all goods and supplies needed for the company to operate.

This person will work closely with suppliers to negotiate prices and terms, and ensure that all deliveries are received in a timely and efficient manner.


Key responsibilities for this role include:

  • Identifying and evaluating new suppliers, based on factors such as quality, price, and delivery time.
  • Negotiating prices and terms with suppliers, including discounts, payment terms, and delivery schedules.
  • Load and request payments to be done to suppliers, and manage cash flows effectively.
  • Placing purchase orders and tracking deliveries, ensuring that all orders are received on time and meet the company's quality standards.
  • Receiving and inspecting all deliveries, verifying that they are complete, accurate, and match the specifications and quantities specified in the purchase order.
  • Maintaining accurate records and reconciliations of all purchases, including purchase orders, invoices, delivery receipts, and stock levels.
  • Keeping track of stock levels and ensuring that the company has adequate supplies to meet its operational needs.
  • Assisting with inventory management, including conducting regular physical counts and reconciling inventory records with actual stock levels for audit purposes weekly.
  • Monitoring supplier performance and addressing any issues, such as late deliveries or quality problems.
  • Analyzing and managing inventorydays per SKU, and developing a model of stock levels based on sales performance.
  • Identify, manage and promote slowmoving items, in order to keep a smooth operation.
  • Working together with the merchandising department to ensure price competitiveness in all of our SKUs.
  • Maintaining a pricing dashboard to inform on supplier competitiveness and drive decisionmaking.
  • Reconciling all supplier accounts, rebates and payments with the finance department.
  • Staying informed about market trends and new products, and making recommendations to senior management about new suppliers or products that could benefit the company.

Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree in procurement, supply chain management, or a related field
  • Proven experience as a procurement manager or similar role
  • Strong negotiation and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of market trends and new products in the FMCG industry
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office and inventory management software.
