    Senior Mechatronics Engineer - Water and Wastewater Treatment

    A senior mechatronics engineer specializing in water and wastewater treatment is sought to join a consulting company's team in Cape Town, South Africa.

    Key Requirements

    • Bachelor of Engineering or Bachelor of Science in Engineering in Mechatronics, with professional registration.
    • Minimum eight years' experience in water and wastewater treatment, with proficiency in MS Office and MS Project.

    About the Role

    Responsibilities

    • Manage project lifecycle risks, including commercial, quality, resourcing, scheduling, and technical aspects.
    • Experience in professional services tendering and agreements, as well as statutory approval processes.
    • Lead and manage design teams, mentoring junior staff members.
    • Conduct feasibility studies, master planning, and report compilation for water, wastewater, and treatment projects.
    • Plan and execute conceptual design, detail design, specification, procurement, and contract administration.
    • Carry out measurements and valuations to produce accurate project schedules, quantities, and valuations.
    • Maintain knowledge of statutory procedures and technical standards.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
    • Capacity to integrate with engineering and non-engineering disciplines.

    Essential Skills

    • Strong understanding of water and wastewater treatment principles and practices.
    • Excellent project management and leadership skills.
    • Effective communication and collaboration skills.
    • Proficiency in MS Office and MS Project.
