    PSYCHOSOCIAL SUPPORT SERVICES MANAGER

    To oversee and maintain the smooth running of the psychosocial programme, ensuring that appropriate standards of support are provided to children and their families.

    Main Responsibilities:

    • Psychosocial Programme Delivery:
    • Ensure good quality services are rendered and uniformly applied.
    • Assess requirements for psychosocial support services in each treatment centre.
    • Coordinate development of psychosocial related information for parents/caregivers.

    Management and Supervision:

    • Manage, supervise, and support Chief Social Worker in execution of role and responsibilities.
    • Recruit agreed CHOC funded psychosocial support staff.
    • Oversee probation review process of new social workers and auxiliary workers.
    • Maintain discipline and address employee-related matters.

    Professional Development:

    • Prepare annual development plans for psychosocial staff members.
    • Identify need for training and development for psychosocial staff.

    Stakeholder Relationship Management:

    • Build and maintain relationships with key external partners.
    • Network and liaise with other organisations within framework of MoUs.

    Strategic Leadership:

    • Facilitate process to fill gaps in regions where CHOC social work services do not exist.
    • Initiate activities to set CHOC as a leader in Psychosocial Sector.

    Education and Training:

    • Prepare, coordinate, and facilitate induction programme for new psychosocial support staff.

    Requirements:

    • Grade 12 / Matric certification.
    • BA Social Work degree with Psychology as second major.
    • Current registration with SA Council for Social Service Professions.
    • Child Protection Register clearance.
    • 6-8 years post qualification experience with suitable supervision experience.
    • 2-3 years social work management experience.
