    Electrical Mechatronic Engineer

    Job Title: Electrical Mechatronic Engineer

    Contract Type: Permanent

    Location: Cape Town - Century City, WC ZA (Primary)

    About the Role:

    The Electrical / Mechatronics Engineer will design, develop, and implement mechatronic systems and products. This role requires a multidisciplinary approach, integrating mechanical, electrical, and software engineering to create innovative solutions that meet client needs.

    Key Responsibilities:

    1. Design and develop electrical systems for industrial plants.
    2. Integrate mechanical, electrical, and automation components to create efficient and reliable systems.
    3. Develop tender documents and drawings.
    4. Manage projects from concept to completion, ensuring timelines are met.
    5. Conduct tests and analyze data to identify issues in mechatronic systems.
    6. Work with cross-functional teams to achieve project goals.
    7. Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in grid code compliance and implement improvements in designs and processes.
    8. Ensure all designs and systems comply with industry standards and regulations.

    Qualifications:

    1. Bachelor's degree in Electrical / Electronic / Mechatronics Engineering or a related field.
    2. Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial electrical engineering or a related field.
    3. A professional registration with ECSA is beneficial.

    Technical Skills:

    1. Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit.
    2. Experience with ETAP / DigSilent.
    3. Knowledge of LV and MV switchgear design, SSEG, and small-scale PV installations.
    4. Familiarity with electrification and automation of water plants.
    5. Understanding of PFC, Harmonics, earthing, and lightning protection.

    Soft Skills:

    1. Strong problem-solving abilities.
    2. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
    3. Ability to take ownership and commitment to quality.
    4. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
