- Health and Safety Policy Management: Ensure all H&S policy is applied and that the H&S agenda and overall objectives are well communicated and supported within the Distribution Centre.
- Plan Development and Management: Support the H&S Manager and the site General Manager in developing and managing plans to achieve health and safety objectives.
- Annual Safety Week Planning: Liaise with appropriate managers and colleagues to drive the development and delivery of the annual Safety week for your Distribution Centre and network.
- Hazard Reporting: Ensure Hazard and Near Miss reporting is being managed correctly at your site.
- Relationship Building: Develop strong working relationships with HSE representatives.
- Risk Assessment and Control: Carry out Risk Assessments and develop suitable controls for the risks, as well as developing safe working practices.
- Compliance Review: Routinely review existing risk assessments and take the necessary action to ensure they remain compliant and current.
- Business Continuity Planning: Support the central team by reviewing and maintaining the business continuity plan for the Distribution Centre, ensuring plans for emergencies are suitable and sufficient.
- Experience: At least 4 years previous experience working within Health and Safety.
- Education: Matric qualification.
- Qualifications: Qualification in HSE.
- Certifications: SAMTRAC certification.
- Advantageous Skills: Logistics experience would be advantageous.
- Technical Skills: Strong Excel, PowerPoint and Word skills.
