Role description:
Key responsibilities:
- Drafting and preparing litigation documents, such as counsel's briefs, notices and pleadings ensuring that all documents are properly formatted, edited, and filed with the court.
- Managing and organizing matter files, ensuring that all necessary documents and correspondence are properly filed and easily accessible.
- Scheduling appointments and meetings which may involve coordinating with clients, opposing counsel, and other parties involved in the case.
- Managing filing dates, court dates and final enrolment dates.
- Managing the Head of Litigation's diary.
- Billing and invoicing.
- Following up on payment of outstanding invoices and updating the weekly debtors' report.
- Travel arrangements.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 10 years' experience as a Litigation Secretary;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities;
- Proficient in MS Office and typing 60 WPM;
- Good knowledge of litigation procedures;
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
- Strong organizational and time management skills; and
- Managing the department's files by maintaining good filing system.
Education and Qualifications:
- Matric certificate
- Relevant litigation and/or legal qualifications.

- Sandton, Gauteng: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)
