- Matric or NQF equivalent
- Qualified Mill Wright
- 10 years' Machine tool Maintenance experience
- Conversant with the Occupational Health and Safety Act 85 of 1993, GCC preferable
- Strong computer literacy skills
- Good organisational and record keeping ability ISO 9001 implementation and reporting experience integrating into My SHEQ.
- Develop and implement comprehensive preventative maintenance schedules for all machinery and equipment.
- Identify critical machines required for rehabilitation.
- Respond promptly to corrective maintenance needs, ensuring minimal downtime.
- Collaborate with the Factory Manager and Assembly Manager to plan maintenance activities in alignment with production schedules.
- Lead a team of two fitters, providing guidance and support for efficient plant maintenance.
- Coordinate work assignments and prioritize tasks to ensure optimal coverage.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of a wide range of machinery, including CNC lathes, CNC multi-tasking machines, CNC boring mills, grinding equipment, welding tools, compressors, generators, lifting equipment, and facility machinery
- Apply in-depth knowledge of hydraulics, electrics, electronics, and mechanics in troubleshooting and maintaining machinery.
- Conduct regular training sessions for the maintenance team to enhance their skills in these areas
- Identify opportunities for improving equipment efficiency and reliability.
- Propose and implement solutions to streamline maintenance processes and reduce downtime.
- Keep record of plant maintenance on the IMS Equipment module. Use the mySHEQ schedules to assist with preventative maintenance planning
- Keep equipment manuals and drawings in good condition to ensure they are controlled and remain in a high-quality condition.
