Description

Responsibilities:

Perform plant start-up and shutdown procedures.

Prepare raw material mixtures for feeding.

Monitor plant equipment and process variables.

Troubleshoot process abnormalities.

Liaise with the laboratory to verify product quality.

Assist board operators with SCADA to optimize process parameters.

Perform safety standby duties.

Perform first-line maintenance duties.

Housekeeping.

Requirements:

National diploma in chemical engineering or chemical process technology/ NQF4 chemical operations.

3 years' experience in a similar position, preferably from the process industry.

Knowledge of process engineering.

Knowledge of petrochemical processes will be a strong asset.

Attention to detail.

Risk assessment and reporting skills.

Computer skills.

Critical thinking.

An open-minded and positive character.

Ability to work independently and in a team.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Availability to work in shifts.
