Job Description:

The Role:
Risk and Trading Officer

You will be reporting directly to the Trading and Product Manager, you will be a key resource sitting between operations and the MTS, you will play an active role in assisting marketing with identifying key events and markets to be delivered to our customers and assisting Support with Sports and Casino queries
.

You will further assist the Risk and Compliance Department, for which you will report to the Risk and Compliance Manager, you will be responsible for monitoring, investigating, and reporting on; exploitative sports and casino play, syndicate activity, bonus abuse and AML/FIC compliance.

Your day will vary from performing Trading duties and Risk and Compliances related duties to as set out below.

Here is what you will be doing (the important stuff)

Trading:

Monitor realtime sports events/ results
Perform customer analysis
Monitor customers bet limits utilizing the stake factoring tools and monitoring Stake Factored accounts
Investigate and analyze market trends to obtain insight that assist in the prediction of customer betting patterns
Observe competitor activity and escalate where appropriate
Liaise with various internal departments in relation to escalations
Assist Marketing with identifying key events and markets, testing of promotions and associated Terms & Conditions
Keep up to date with sporting activity by following sports events and new updates
Logging of errors or problems on the website and with Vendors
Liaise with the software provider technical support team where necessary
Perform other trading duties that may be requested by management

Risk and Compliance:

Detect and prevent fraud across product verticals
Conduct analysis on advantage/exploitative play and recommend action
Conduct investigations on customer accounts and disputes and report to management
Assist with FIC/AML compliance and conduct EDD investigations when required
Checking withdrawals as per internal limits
Liaise with the MTS provider on an ongoing basis
Liaise with the software provider technical support team where necessary
Assist Marketing and Customer Service as required
Work with the payments team in investigating financial fraud
Maintain high level of awareness on internal policies, systems, and procedures
Compile reports and perform any other ad hoc duties that may be requested by management

Qualifications:

The essentials:

Matric / Grade 12 or higher (essential)
3 Years' experience in an IGaming/Sports environment
Experience in working with an MTS
Knowledge of Bookmaking theory and Sports Betting
Risk Analysis experience
Knowledge of the South African regulatory framework
Detailed understanding of Casino product

Some desirables:

Relevant Legal/Risk related Degree/ Diploma
Experience in VIP services and bonusing
In depth knowledge of the math's driving Bonusing and Retention strategy
Knowledge of enterprise level Compliance and best practice
