Duties and Responsibilities

  • Servicing existing accounts, obtain orders, and establish new accounts by strategically planning and organizing daily work schedule to call on existing or potential sales customers and other trade factors.
  • Drive sales activities and the acquisition of new business within South Africa and abroad.
  • Focus sales efforts by studying existing and potential volume of traders.
  • Monitors competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, delivery schedules, merchandising techniques, etc.
  • Provides product specifications and technical backup.
  • Maintain up to date product knowledge in order to determine and design a solution applicable to the client's needs and requirements.
  • Recommends changes in products, service, and policy by evaluating results and competitive developments.
  • Resolves customer complaints by investigating problems; developing solutions; preparing reports; making recommendations to Top management.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies
  • Provides historical records by maintaining records on area and customer sales.
  • Determine market trends, conduct SWOT analysis.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Provide guidance to the Tender Administration Team
- receiving of tenders, quoting on items, completing all relevant information including technical as required by the tender requirements, adhering to instruction as to closing date and time and delivery of documents to the required address.

Credentials and experience

  • Experience in External Sales and Tender Administration.
