Purpose of the role

The role of an events and activations coordinator is to be responsible for the implementation of event and activations plans (both physical and virtual) for CapeTalk, KFM, EWN and Primedia Broadcasting, in line with agreed upon strategies, image and positional goals, in a way that brings the Primedia brands to life.

It involves co-creating and implementing events and activations for clients and the stations.
Key outputs/accountability
Contributing in brainstorms and team sessions with creative concepts for online, and physical events/activations
Implement commercial brand activations of CS sold properties
Collate costs for budget presentation to line manager
Coordinate the contracting process with external parties
Produce quality events and activations that deliver on client/station objectives
On-going monitoring and measuring of brand and communication activity to improve results and maximize ROI to the company. This includes post-campaign activity. Ensuring that the appropriate and relevant information is gathered and shared in a timely manner
Implementation of event/activations covering the following brands under the Primedia umbrella: Kfm, CapeTalk, EWN and PMB:
Coordination of activations / events / promotional activity
Manage the step by step COCT process and EMS procedures, event compliance of events/activations
To run the event on the day by being the point of contact for selected suppliers and enablers that makes the event possible in accordance with the brief provided by the business
Liaising with clients, management and station
Creating and coordinating post event reports where necessary for the team
Implementation of IP event properties where relevant under the Brand Marketing Manager's lead
Implementation of IP event properties where relevant under the Brand Marketing Manager's lead
Assist in coordinating internal events (e.g. conference, end of fiscal / year parties)
Create and collate internal briefing documentation for events
Support of other members of the department regarding station events/promotions/ activations
Updating of station calendars on a weekly basis


REQUIREMENTS:

Educational qualifications and experience
Three year diploma in Marketing (or equivalent)
Three-plus years hands on experience in marketing/events.
Essential knowledge and skills
Experience with budget creation and budget management
Excellent communication and presentation skills
An understanding of the COCT and EMS processes, COVID protocols; Occupational Health and Safety & Events Act
Effective engagement with internal / external stakeholders
Knowledge in running small and medium sized events, outside broadcasts and activations is advantageous
Excellent time management skills
Excellent administration and organizational skills
Attention to detail and accuracy essential
Ability to co-ordinate a number of projects simultaneously
Ability to spot potential crises and highlight these to line manager timeously
The ability to remain calm under pressure
Clear, concise communicator with a wide variety of people on diverse projects
Ability to brainstorm creative ideas and new activations with internal stakeholders
A team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills
