PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

The Sales Team Leader is the glue that holds the sales team together, providing the supervision, training and motivation to the team to reach sales goals.

In this typically fast-paced environment, the Sales Team Leader is often moving from one task to another, answering questions, holding meetings, delegating responsibilities, and acting as a voice of encouragement.

The 'right hand' of the Regional Sales Manager, the Sales Team Leader is a results-driven people person with high energy levels, positivity and internal drive.

Key Performance Areas would include, but are not limited to:

  • Assisting the Regional Sales Manager (RSM) in the attainment of the Regional Hub's revenue & customer growth targets.
  • Assisting the RSM by coordinating all activities of the regional Sales Administrators and Sales Agents within the Hub.
  • Assisting the RSM in the line management of all sales staff by:
  • Helping to recruit, select and train sales team members.
  • Ongoing mentoring & coaching of sales team members.
  • Tracking of sales team performance via monthly KPAs.
  • Assisting with departmental performance management and where necessary disciplinary issues.
  • Assisting the RSM in administration of the Regional Sales Department by:
  • Tactical sales plans for the achievement of the regional targets.
  • Accurate short
- and medium-term sales forecasts for the Regional Hub.

  • Meticulous lead generation and sales pipeline management.
  • Tracking and reporting key sales metrics on a daily basis.
  • Ensuring all sales staff maintain strict departmental adherence to all SOPs and other internal processes & procedures.
  • Assisting with the preparation of detailed analysis reports of sales results, team performance, and regional growth trends for Management.
  • Highly accurate capturing of all customer
- and sales-related information on Datatill and other internal systems.

  • Maintaining in depth knowledge of Herotel's entire product range.
  • Assisting with lead generation initiatives in conjunction with internal/external resources.
  • Cultivating crossfunctional teamwork with all other Departments in the Regional Hub.

years' experience as a salesperson in the Telecoms industry.

  • In depth knowledge of Sales Management best practices.
  • Experience in developing & leading highperformance sales teams is required.
  • A proven track record in exceeding sales targets is required.

Qualifications:

Minimum of Grade 12 required, preferably a tertiary commercial qualification.
