    Description
    • Support the maintenance and development of electronic drawing registers, ensuring effective management, control, and access to up-to-date drawings.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Develop and maintain standards and procedures for the drawing office, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
    • Liaise with team members and stakeholders to understand requirements, specifications, and layouts, fostering strong communication and collaboration.
    • Interpret drawings from external consultants, demonstrating the ability to understand scope of work and apply knowledge effectively.
    • Participate in site measurements, collect information, create sketches, and detail equipment on-site, contributing to the development of equipment registers.
    • Aid in producing conceptual designs under supervision, providing overall dimensions and technical guidance.
    • Contribute to detailed drawings showcasing construction/installation methods, surface finishes, and material requirements, enhancing project deliverables.
    • Interpret drawings during construction phases, receiving guidance from senior team members and applying critical thinking skills.
    • Assist Engineers with modifications during construction and update drawings as directed, demonstrating adaptability and a willingness to learn.
    • Collaborate with originators on site modifications and requirements, gaining hands-on experience and developing problem-solving skills.
    • Maintain a library of all drawings and operational manuals, ensuring proper document management and configuration principles are upheld.
    • Update and maintain the electronic drawings database, guaranteeing accuracy and security in line with established standards.

    Requirements:

    • Education:
      • National Diploma or Certificate in Draughting, Engineering, or a related field is required.
      • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is an advantage but not mandatory.
    • Skills & Competencies:
      • Eagerness to learn and develop technical drafting skills, with a focus on continuous improvement.
      • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills, ensuring efficient workflow and high-quality output.
      • Ability to interpret technical drawings, with training provided as needed.
      • Good communication skills and willingness to collaborate with various teams, promoting a culture of teamwork and innovation.
      • Basic understanding of South African building codes and standards is an asset, but not necessary.
    • Experience:
      • No prior professional experience is required, but an internship or practical exposure in a similar environment is advantageous.
