Purpose of the role

  • To organize and analyses production activities to meet production target.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Administration of Production, Planning and Control processes
  • Identifies type and quantity of raw materials required to complete Purchase Requisition
  • Ensures availability of raw materials and resources in line with Purchase Orders received from suppliers
  • Liaises with production team on work scheduling and planning
  • Develops the production plan schedule in line with production forecast
  • Communicates production plan to the production team
  • Prioritizes and sequences work, executing work plans and implementing controls
  • Develops techniques for establishing and controlling scheduling processes
  • Drives continuous improvement of scheduling and sequencing processes
  • Controls and monitors raw material usage / consumption (coil, necker wax, chemicals, washer and wastewater chemicals, inside and outside lacquer, inks, blankets, printing plates, stretch wrap film and strap).
  • Escalates instances of wastage or over consumption / variances to relevant departments daily, weekly, and monthly
  • Monitors the stock of raw materials available to ensure there are no instances of over stocking or understocking and to ensure sufficient materials are available to meet production forecasts
  • Plans and coordinates material flow from internal and external suppliers to and from facility
  • Executes continuous improvement plans for the control and handling of inventory
  • Ensures the timely posting of production figures to SAP to enable the warehouse department to issue waybills
  • Establishes and monitors matrix for PPC system performance management
  • Coordinates and expedites the flow of work and materials
  • Reviews and compiles report on progress of work, inventory levels, costs and production problems
  • Provide 13 Week forecast cycle to suppliers
  • Create / Update SAP BOM's & Material numbers
  • Coordinate SPP meetings
  • Comply with Safety, Health and Environment policies
  • Coordinate SCARS and claims management
  • Performing of any other instruction given by manager in line with responsibilities and duties as required
    Inherent Requirements

Minimum Requirements

  • Diploma Industrial Engineering, Logistics or Supply Chain Qualification
  • Minimum 35 years relevant experience in Manufacturing / FMCG environment
  • SAP
