Component Engineer - Kariega - Profile Personnel

Brief Role Description:

This role ensures that Company Group Africa products meet market requirements by designing, developing, testing and introducing locally manufactured components.

Key objectives include:

Ensuring products are built problem-free
Meeting regional requirements for local content and technical support
Innovative product feature development
Safety and reliability in service
Technical support for discontinued models
Adhering to the Product Emergence Process (PEP) manual

Possible Tasks within this Role

Apply knowledge of vehicle component systems
Prepare and maintain technical data
Support Production, Logistics, Warranty and Quality
Specify, test and release relevant components and systems
Create and track development timing plans
Evaluate and implement design changes
Support suppliers throughout the development phase
Communicate with Group counterparts
Apply root cause analysis tools

Qualification Requirements

BSc / BEng in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering required.

Experience Needed

Minimum 1 year's experience in the automotive industry or similar engineering field required.

Essentials

Knowledge of modern engine and drivetrain components
Knowledge of project management principles
Understanding of basic financial principles
Self-motivation and good time management
Technical presentation ability
MS Office computer literacy
Code 08 Driver's Licence
